Alan graduated from Texas A&M University in 2009 with a Bachelor of Environmental Design. After graduation, he began working for an architectural firm in Denton, Texas, specializing in municipal design. Alan worked directly with the principal architect of the firm to lead projects, design with clients, develop design details, produce construction documents, and to perform construction administration. In 2011, Alan returned to Texas A&M to continue pursuing his architectural license. Upon graduating in 2013 with a Master of Architecture and subsequently passing all seven architectural licensing tests, Alan and his wife moved to China. After returning to the United States in 2016, Alan joined Specific Space in an ever-increasing role. When Alan isn’t working on an architecture project, he enjoys designing and building wood and metal furniture and spending time with his wife and two daughters.

Alan has over 10 years of design and delivery experience in project types ranging from fire stations, municipal headquarters, restaurants, retail stores, tenant finish-out, and multi-family.

As the Projects Team Director, Alan coordinates the technical aspects of project delivery, including overseeing architectural drawing and communication, sustainability and code compliance, and specifications. He collaborates directly with the Design Team Director and coordinates with consultants from the beginning stages of the project through project closeout.
